Personal Update

An old picture of mine from back when we could travel.

I know that I've been quiet on here since March, and I apologize for that. I've had some subscribers reach out wondering what happened, so I felt it was important to update everyone on the reasons for my silence.

Like many of you, things have changed a lot due to the COVID-19 crisis across the world. I happened to be between contracts when the pandemic hit the U.S., so since then I have been in and out of various contracts. Additionally, some of the contracts that have been coming in have been using technologies outside of the scope of my normal work, including Node.JS, DevOps Infrastructure (such as Kubernetes and Ambassador), and .NET.

Additionally, as many of you know, the consultancy I work for was bought out at the beginning of this year. For the most part, none of the changes have impacted this blog, but that is about to change, with new policies revolving around blogging coming soon.

What does this mean for this blog? A few things:

  • I will not be creating new posts for a while, until the new policies for blogging are in place, and we are able to get back to a consistent publication schedule.

  • Once I am able to post more content, it may be more varied then strictly about Big Data, involving Software Development, DevOps, and general architectural concepts for software.

I hope that all of you have been safe over the last few months, and hope that things get back to normal. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to me on here, LinkedIn, or Twitter with questions or post ideas! I can't wait to get back to posting and show you all what I've been up to!
